On Tuesday, September 21 starting at 6:30pm, the Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood Association is hosting a meeting in-person and via Zoom for Lux Living to present to the residents of the Forest Park Southeast and Kings Oak neighborhoods their proposed development on the former Drury properties along Kingshighway.
Agenda
- 6:30pm – 6:35pm: An intro to Lux Living (conducted by the FPSE Neighborhood Association)
- 6:35pm – 6:50pm: Lux Living presentation (presented by Lux Living)
- 6:50pm – 7:20pm: Community x Lux Q&A (administered by the FPSENA)
- 7:20pm – 8:05pm: Community discussion (administered by the FPSNA)
Meeting Expectations
At our meeting on September 21, we hope to hear from the diversity of residents that make up our neighborhoods. Our goal is to listen to what is proposed, ask constructive questions, gather all perspectives, and discuss our likes and our concerns about the proposal. Rather than focusing on specific design and architecture choices which are guided by the neighborhood’s Form-Based Code, we want residents to think about their experience in the neighborhood, and small ways we can address those concerns in the existing proposal.
Lastly, to best ensure an honest and transparent meeting, will ask all speakers for a short disclosure before they speak, including who they are and who they work for.
Lux Living’s Development Proposal Presentation
We encourage residents to review Lux Living’s development proposal prior to the meeting. You can download a PDF of the presentation below.

Subsequent Meetings
The FPSENA may plan a second, subsequent meeting to regroup with neighbors and finalize small ways to address concerns. Otherwise, a second meeting will be held to review an amended Lux proposal.
Community feedback will be given to Alderwoman Sweet-T. We’d hope the Alderwoman would use these suggestions within her recommendations for Lux Living’s proposal, and in which Lux Living would incorporate the Alderwoman’s recommendations into a revised proposal. The revised proposal would be shared at a second or possible third meeting, pending the progress of the first meeting.

Outreach & Notifications
Under our bylaws, much of our mission is to provide a neutral forum for discussions and to provide a place where information can be distributed, perspectives discussed, and community concerns collected and then communicated to elected officials and other organizations active in the neighborhood.
The weeks prior to this meeting and in cooperation with Alderwoman Sweet-T, volunteers, and Midtown Community Services, we distributed meeting flyers to the homes and apartments on the 4400 and 4500 blocks north of Manchester, the businesses along Manchester and Chouteau, and the Kings Oak neighborhood. Additional meeting notifications include the Event on our Facebook Page a month out of the meeting, our newsletter one week before the meeting, and this article.
