I’ll get straight to the point: the news for crime is not great this month.  Crime is up in Forest Park Southeast for the month of August and up overall this year.  Keep in mind, though, that a single month of data does not necessarily indicate a long term trend.  See below for some summary stats:

  • 20 Total Crimes
    • 5.26% increase when compared to August 2017 (19 crimes)
      • Increased: assault, larceny
      • Decreased: burglary, robbery
      • No change: auto theft
    • 5 crimes against persons in August 2018 (4 assaults and 1 robbery)
      • 25.00% increase compared to August 2017 (4 crimes)
    • Crime occurred most frequently on Fridays.
  • 121 total crimes so far in 2018
    • 5.22% increase when compared to this point in 2017. (134 crimes)
      • Increased: assault, homicide, rape
      • Decreased: auto theft, burglary, larceny, robbery
      • No change: arson
    • 74.07% increase compared to this point in 2017 (27 crimes)
